Debi Is the Manager of Training and Behavior at the Humane Society of Greater Nashua, NH. She divides her time between working with dogs in shelter and working with the public better understand their canine companions. She teaches both group classes and privates at a low cost to the public. Classes are limited to three dogs and are a combination of standard basics, concept training and the science behind how animals learn.

Debi's journey into dog training, like so many journeys, was not a straight road.  She had always lived with dogs. She trained and work with two of her dogs to be Pet Partners. They spent 12 years visiting Hospice patients in hospital and in home. In 2012, after the loss of one of those dogs, she found Harry. He was a boisterous adolescent hound from a local shelter. He inspired her to start to volunteering at the shelter he had been adopted from. Debi began as a dog walker and within a few years had become knowledgeable enough to work with dogs with advanced behavior issues. She was also a mentor for new volunteers, helping to develop the training program for them. Debi was Volunteer of the Year in 2014.  She achieved this while working as a Store Manager and Training Manager for a billion-dollar retailer.

In 2019, after much research, Debi enrolled in VSA and graduated in 2020. She has gone on to complete Kim Brophy's FDM course and is a licensed FDM-Shelter division. She is an IAABC shelter affiliate and completed both Michael Shikashio's Master Course in Aggression and Susan Friedman's LLA. She also recently completed Absolute Dogs Pro Dog Trainer course. She is a CPDT-KA.

Debi left her retail career in 2022 to pursue her dream job at the Humane Society and with a new sense of purpose, works to help improve the understanding between dogs and their people.
