What does this mean?

Post by LB »

I recently wrote about my Yorkie and Boston Terrier females who aren't getting along under methods in response to a post.

I've noticed that lately my alpha Yorkie has started kicking up the ground/grass with her back legs after she finishes her business. I've seen other dogs do this but she's never done it this much. Could it be part of her alpha personality shining through even more :?: :?

Just wondering.

It has nothing to do with being top dog, more to do with spreading their smell around to tell all the other dogs that they have been there.

My Staffy does this and she is in the middle of my pack.

I have noticed that a lot of dogs do this. I just think of it as normal behavior.

And it's particularly common in terriers IME.
