Old cat / New dog

Hi,

I have a 8 year old cat and I am going to adopted a young dog. As I've been told the dog is already used to cats. However, the dog is outside with the cats and my cat is an indoor cat. My cat is not used to dogs.

Any advices on how to introduce the dog and the cat?

Slowly is my advice, When we got Belle we placed her in the living room and the cats came in and out as they pleased (we have 3) we didnt push the dog on to them at all, Belle is great with the cats the only problem we have with her is that she likes to hump our youngest but he doesnt mind tbh. The cats have the run of upstairs all the time so when they have had enough of Belle they go up there and she doesnt follow. Hope this helps
