This Thanksgiving I've had a chance to reflect on all of the many blessings in my life. My family. My friends. My dogs (not that they aren't also family). But one of the things not on that list that I appreciate every day is the extent to which I get to do what I love doing for a living.
Obviously, I've been fortunate to be able to translate my chosen profession as a dog trainer to the broader world via TV shows and other media. But over the past couple of years, I've been able to add another vocation to my everyday life - teaching.
The VSA academy
The Victoria Stilwell Academy just celebrated its third birthday, and we couldn't be prouder of the place it has quickly earned as an elite learning institution for aspiring dog trainers. VSA allows me the opportunity to scratch my teaching itch, and I truly love it.
Whether we're working with students (and dogs) at one of our in-person intensives or working on the brand-new, massive, and exciting curriculum for the Online Dog Trainer Course, it is so enriching for me to be in a position to share my passion for dog training and behavior with others who follow dog geeks like me.
Fundamentals
And now, not only are we catering to those wanting to be professional dog trainers, but with the new Fundamentals of Dog Training & Behavior Course, we're also able to provide the same elite-level learning experiences for dog owners just looking to better understand their canine companions.
It's fun. And hugely rewarding.
So on this Thanksgiving weekend, I thank all of you who have chosen to learn with us and allow us to share our passion for learning how dogs think, feel, and learn with you.
