Our 4 year old Pomeranian, possible mix is a love. While I am working he sits in our 2nd floor office windowseat which overlooks the street and sidewalks. He is fine and usually sleeps until he sees someone he knows walk by, in particular the mailman because he gives him treats when we are out walking or if it is one of our neighbors walking their dog. He knows and likes the other dogs and wants to go out and walk with them so barks like crazy.

If we are outside walking he if fine, and just joins them for a the walk and they don't bark at all. He only barks at dogs he hasn't gotten to know yet.

How do I get him to stop barking when people walk by the house and at strangers. I don't mind if he barks when the doorbell rings, but he barks like a mad man when people leave. I think he doesn't want them to leave.
