October Photo Comp Entry Thread

Post by emmabeth »

Ok, post your pics here folks - do me a hyooooge favour, just try to post the pic and maybe a short line about it, and keep the chatter to a min cos its really hard when I go back and put the numbers on each photo after the thread is locked, to filter out the right ones!

Once the voting starts THEN you can use this thread to discuss the piccies :):)

So, this months theme, as chosen by PikiPiki is....... Halloween/Autumn

One photo per user.

Try to fit it to the theme as much as possible (no photoshopping please) - remember its the pic fitting the theme that we are looking at, whilst good photography obviously helps this is NOT a 'who takes the best photograph' comp. The themes are intentionally quite broad so it is up to YOU to interpret them the way you want, and the cleverer you do that... the better your chances of winning.

We will run this thread until 23 October, then run the voting thread for a week after that, unless anyone feels it would be better to have a little longer than a week to vote, if so say so NOW because once I open the voting thread i cant easily change how long it runs for!

Go find your pics - you have time to take them specifically for this too - no 'real' prizes, just the glory of being 'photo of the month;' and picking the theme for the next comp which will be Novembers.

Go go go!

Here's my Halloween picture, both of my dogs 'possessed by demons'.

Either that, or they're terminators, part dog-part machine. Underneath the fur is a hyperalloy combat chassis, microprocessor controlled, fully armored, very tough...

Ringo is smiling with contentment as he enjoys the sights, sounds and smells of Autumn.

I apologize for the large picture. I couldn't make the image smaller. Due to the over-sized image, all of Ringo isn't shown.

Oh all these pics are so lovely. Judy is your son a photographer? That photo is quite remarkable :D

Thank you :D He was very keen on photography for a while and took it very seriously, but he seems to have lost the muse, which is a shame. So not a 'proper' photographer but I agree, he's very talented (not that I'm biased of course  ).

Though we're not really meant to be chatting in here....

The trees here haven't QUITE cottoned on, yet, that it's meant to be Autumn. We tried, though!
[edit] I've changed my mind! I'll go with this one instead, it's a miniature Grim

I know it's supposed to be dogs but I had to share this freaky picture of my cats. For some reason it's insisting on chopping part of Dizzy's face off...

It looks fine on mine - but that's because I have a widescreen monitor :) The forum trims photos to fit so the forum doesn't distort - if you want to see it full size just right click the picture and choose 'open image in a new tab'.

Here's a picture of Murphy <3 from last fall. He would never wear a costume and we would never take him outside on Halloween, so no Halloween ones! But boy, did he love running around in dry leaves! This was a "focus" moment at the park.

We had a cold front today, so Max ran around in the grass all day enjoying the wind. (We didn't force him of course! He just had the zoomies. He seemed to get even more excited when the wind flapped his ears around.) Although, it probably wasn't really a cold front because our definition of cold right now is 65F. Hahaha.

So after he had his run-around in the nice cool weather, he was exhausted.

It's an "oldy, but goody." Annie's very first autumn, asleep on an autumn print sofa.
