Devil Dog strikes again

Post by thepennywhistle »

Fifteen minutes. I slept in for only 15 minutes! Wasn't even sleeping! I indulged in 1
round of the snooze alarm. Okay, then there was the frantic hunt for my glasses, which
are a major necessity, but I was up and heading their way. And then I smelled it. The
Devil Dog (AKA Seraph) had amused herself, or dealt with her frustrations on my being
late to open the door, and had shredded a box of cat litter -- the kind with that perfumey
"fresh" smell. I opened my bedroom door to find she had pulled the 32 pound cardboard
box in front of my door, dug her way through the heavy cardboard box, and liberally coated
the hallway and kitchen with 32 pounds of clumping cat litter. The cats are amazed with
this turn of events, and I'm hoping they remember that litter-on-floor does not = litter BOX.
Also hoping that smell airs out quickly. It's not my favorite. I have to work now, so I won't
be able to get to the massive cleanup until tonight, and I'm not looking forward to it :(

*sigh* No sleeping in. Gotcha.

Um.... it could have been worse-- MUCH worse: it could have been "used" cat litter all over the floor!

Hahaha! I'm sorry that this happened, but you are a funny storyteller.

What is really weird is that the dog seem to enjoy having this stuff
around! I've tried to clean up, but it keeps creeping out from behind
and under things -- 32 pounds is a lot when you spread it out :( Whenever
they find another sprinkle of it, they roll in it! I'd initially tossed a blanket
over the nap spot in the hall so they wouldn't lie in it, but they dragged
that out of the way and were rolling in it. Storm was even sitting in the
remains of the box and enjoying herself thoroughly. They can't love that
chemical perfume smell, and with their thick coats they can't feel the sandy
litter, so I'm really at a loss as to why they think this is so fantastic. My dogs
like clumping cat litter. Learn something every day....

Oh no...I hope this doesn't become a repeated thing

Maybe you have just found a terrific dog toy  Strongly accented voiceover: Does your dog suffer from separation anxiety? Can't get out to walk your dog? Break out the clumping cat litter!

maybe you should put litter in a plastic container with lid & store in a cabinet with a lock...

Your Seraph is a funny girl but sh cannot hang out with Max she will be a bad influence

  There's a new thought. I will say it is long lasting, and you do get a lot for your money! In fact, I'm beginning to doubt I'll ever be free of either smell or sandy particles creeping out
from under the fridge, under the washer, etc. And there's that "fresh" smell.... My house doesn't smell like cats or dogs right now, though. It's all 'Fresh Step'

Sadly, it used to come in a plastic pail that I just loved, but they've just
changed their packaging :( Guess that's why this hasn't come up before.
