Hi everyone , can't believe it's been 3 months since I was on last , but I have been so busy.

Lovely to hear how you all are , very adorable kitten Erica :D

The past three months have been up and down , at the end of September I started my access to higher education in health and I was so nervous going back into the classroom and learning again and it's been nerve wracking but I'm a lot more confident and comfortable now and am doing a lot better my teacher told me that I have what it takes I just need to believe in myself more.

Then my world turned upside down and dark 3 weeks ago Sampson passed away , he died of bone cancer , I noticed a lump on his leg back in September and the vet took a sample and did further tests to see if it had spread and unfortunately it had , I did not want to put him through treatment as there were risks involved and no guarantee he would live longer so I decided the best thing to do was to let him go then before he started to suffer. I'm still not right and my heart aches so much for him but I know I could not have lived with myself watching him change from treatment or seem him suffering in even more pain.

Lara is fine and is helping me everyday to keep going and reminding me Sampson wouldn't want me to be sad.

She also has a new best friend one of my best friends and neighbor a few doors down has a new puppy a Euraiser who Lara is besotted with.

I'm glad your all doing well , I might not be on again for awhile as I have lots of revision to do and then there's Christmas  .

I would like to wish all of you a early merry Christmas from me and Lara

Lovely to hear from you, LoQ - and even more lovely to hear how well both you and Merlin are doing :D I still remember laughing when you said that your parents had told you that they would be happy to take Merlin in but seemed a bit more vague about whether they'd take you back

I met a 9-week-old spaniel pup up the shops this morning, being carried by a young girl (10ish?) outside Boots while her mum was in the shop. The poor pup looked so scared, cowered away from people trying to stroke her, and jumped when someone tooted their horn. So rightly or wrongly, I gave her a bit of a lecture on how in early socialisation every new experience must be a GOOD one and perhaps a busy shopping parade with all the noises, and lots of people dying to give her a stroke, was too much for her right now. Whether it'll make any difference I don't know. She might have thought I was just very rude, but I couldn't not say anything.

So sorry to hear about Sampson.

I haven't been here for a while due to the difficulties I have been having posting.

Sky was diagnosed with cancer in April and I never imagined she would be taking 2 mile + walks at this point in time. So far, she seems to feel fine with mobility still being her biggest challenge, although we have finally found an anti-inflammatory medicine that seems to help.

Her appetite is still good and she still demands her daily walk.

Our 20 year old cat is also still around and Sirius will turn 13 in January.

I have put in an application to rescue a samoyed at some point in the future, I can't afford to add another family member at this time, but I know with current ages and health conditions, my future time with them is less that the time I have had so far.

It may be selfish, but I want some spot of brightness out there for the future.

I have a goal of taking Sky to the New Years walk in DC with the samoyed club. She isn't really comfortable with all the dogs, so the plan is to arrive early, walk with a good friend of hers, maybe get into the group photo and then head home as the others are heading out to walk.

In case I don't get to post again before Christmas, I hope everyone has a peaceful holiday season, and for those who have recently lost their beloved pets, I hope you will find some happy memories.
Grammy to Sky and Sirius, who came to live with me, stole my heart, and changed my life forever as I took over their care and learned how to be a dog owner.

I'm sorry you're still having problems posting, MPb. It's good to hear Sky is doing well, along with Sirius and your cat - our cat will be 21 in February, assuming he's still here then! I hope you have a lovely holiday too.

Jasper is sporting a big bruise and scrape on his chest, and a gouge on his leg after spotting the white flash of a deer rump in the woods and disappearing... for all of a couple of minutes, that boy really has no persistence  Though thinking about it, it was when I blew my whistle so he knew where I was that he came back - maybe that's when he stopped chasing? I can dream... I did wonder whether the bruise might develop into a hoofprint but more likely he just clonked and scraped it running through a bush.

He wanted a chest scratch today but I was a bit reluctant given that he might have forgotten it hurt and then blamed any unexpected pain on me.

Great to hear about the cats, our tiny fluffy Himalayan girl is only 9. She doesn’t seem to miss the big boy too much, and jumps on Ari’s bed from time to time, which I still can’t put away. I think the bed will just have to stick around until we are ready for a new puppy. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Thank you MPbandmom , I still can't believe he's gone but I know he's happy and at peace now.

I keep getting told to login again to MPbandmom once I try to post. Don't know why we keep having problems though.

I've been banned three times in the past two days  I haven't done anything naughty, honest - I think I keep picking up a banned IP address, but can then log on when I get assigned a new one.

Thinking about it, if I make a note of my IP address when I'm banned, then when I can log in again I might be able to unban it...

Lara and me enjoyed two weeks at the lake district its one of my favorite places so quite which after loising sampson i needed just some quite time to think about everything and to spend quality time with lara. It helped loads its helped to begin planning for the future now after sampson and has made everything clearer to me. I have decided my next dog will be another German Shepherd as i love Lara very much and Love the breed. I really was tempted for another Giant Schnauzer but sampson was my one in a million dog , i call him my one in a lifetime dog he was so special to me i could never own another as id be comparing and that would be unfair. But spending so much time with Lara has helped me realise i have the perfect breed for me already. I was so wrapped up in grief from loosing sampson that i ignored Lara and i feel awful for that and am so glad i reliased it. I am now looking into breeders and will be spending a lot of time and making sure i find a good breeder in the GSD who health tests and whos sheps are not massivley exaggerated in the headquarters. Mom said i should look at long coats as they appear to have more straight backs.

I hope everyones ok on here its very quite here.
