this really isn't about first aid, but more of an 'emergency' tip.

police and other first responders are trained to check your cell phone contacts for "ICE" (in case of emergency) contact info should you be injured in an auto accident.

so, with that in mind, i've entered an ice contact for myself, and also created a contact 'ice-pets' as my dogs are frequently with me when i run my errands. i've listed a pet friends name that is willing to come to the rescue should i have a medical emergency and need to be taken by ambulance. my pet friend would keep the dogs safe, or if need be, transport THEM to a vet for care, knowing full well that any expenses are something i'd take care of.

Pale gums
Quick breathing
Poor or rapid pulse
Change in the body's temperature
Trouble standing
Apparent paralysis
Loss of awareness
Convulsions
Too much bleeding
