Eating Cat food

Post by Kittylove5 »

Everytime I let my Jasmine, my 9 week old Pomeranian down the stairs she KNOWS where to go to get her forbidden food. She eats my cat's food and I'm not sure why she likes his food better than her own, is it because they are smaller sized than hers? How can I get her to like her food better and keep her out of Simba's (The cat)'s dish
Behind every good dog there is a great owner.

Because of the different nutritional requirements of dogs and cats, cat food is much higher in meat and fats than dog food, and so tastes better to the dog. As cats are generally fussier feeders it is also quite likely that commercial cat food has more taste enhancers in it.

However cat food is not ideal for your dog.

Easy to manage - put the cat food where the dog can't get at it.
A dog is never bad or naughty - it is simply being a dog
