Messenger Dog

Post by whitesam »

This is especially great for families w/ 2 story homes. Get a small pocket camera pouch w/ a zipper pocket that has a belt loop attachment so it can be snapped on to your dogs collar or attached w/ a rock climbing carbiner. In it put a mini pen/pencil, blank note paper and dog treats. Teach your dog the "GO TO" command. Have him carry messages & small objects to family members.Receiver rewards him w/a treat & sends him back to sender (usually mom) to acknowledge delivery was executed, receives another treat for returning to sender.
For example: "GO TO <child's name>" , (messages) Come eat dinner, empty the trash, take your shower, get ready for bed, here's your allowance (include in pouch) etc.
Your kids will love it, you won't have to run up & down the stairs and your dog has a new stimulating job to perform that let's him interact w/ the entire family. Have fun!

Oh-- that is cute! And we just have a little one level house, but I might try that, just for fun-- my boys would get a kick out of it.

Of course, remove the pouch as soon as he's done.

Had to add that for all the sticklers.
