Food during the night....

Post by Logansmum »

My 20 month old lab Logan has Eosinophilic IBD. I have to get up every two hours or so to give him a couple of spoons of food, or hes sick. Anyone have any ideas on how to stop this? He gets 3ml zantac at night. Im so tired!

If you had a device that could dispense the food automatically, would he be able to wake up and go get the bite of food on his own? If so, you might be able to try an automatic fish feeder-- it's for aquariums, and ideal for people who are on vacation, as it dispenses a specific amount of food on a timer-- I don't know if it would work for dog food or not, but you could at least go to the store and look at them, talk to the shop assistant, and find out...

Hi there,

What's he fed on? I'm no expert but in my experience the more natural the diet (raw meaty bones for e.g.) the better a dog with allergies/IBS does.

I feel your pain, my chi had hypoglycaemia and I had to feed him every 4 hours for a month. I was like a zombie by the time he was old enough to go through the night!
