liver cake

Post by danabanana »

How do you make this? I have tracked down a 2kg bag of liver chunks and would like to use some as treats, I think I read somewhere that you can dry it out in the oven for a few hours but what is livercake that I have read people use on here?

Still trying to find treats to entice my girl, raw chicken seems to work well but it's a bit inconvenient to take out on walks, and obviously not hygienic to be handling raw chicken lots where I can't wash my hands!

Me again!!
What I do - after many attempts is:
Blend the liver in a food processor/blender
add plain flour
couple of cloves of garlic (optional)
pour into oven proof dish and bake until darkish brown on top.
It usually rises a bit and cracks on the top.

You have to make the mixture pretty thick before you put it into the dish, other wise it doesn't set very well and crumbles into mush before you can give it to the dog
I make big batches of it and freeze it, really handy for training.
Oh and they love licking the inside of the mixer lid after!!!
