Zippy went for his follow up appt today. They are happy with his progress. After the first 3-4 days after his last appt and scope, he has gotten much better. He has only coughed a couple of times in the last few days compared to coughing on and off all day long everyday for over a week. He can even play now without coughing too much. SO the plan is to keep him on the current meds for another 3 weeks and then they want to take another look at his airways to see if the irritation has gone away. I guess the last time they were pretty bad. Then if they look better and his coughing is still doing ok, we will start cutting back on the prednisone. I am so glad he is doing better. He had me really worried about him for awhile. He couldn't even get out of bed in the am w/o a coughing fit before. Yea for Zippy!!! :D :D

That good news has brought a few tears Desiree, you have had a very rough time with Zippy, nothing has been too much trouble for you to do for him. I will keep the Reiki going to Zippy and hope it is helping him.

Thanks ladies!! It was so nice to be able to post good news for once. :D Now I'm off to enjoy a few chocolates and a non alcoholic beer just cause a beer sounds soooo good right now, and its just too hard to fight the craving.

Why bother fighting the craving when it is none alcoholic, enjoy it and another if you want.

Hello everyone! Good news to report. Its been a couple of weeks now since Zippy has been on all this medicine and he has only had one day where he coughed more than once or twice. This past Sat he coughed several times but even then it was not nearly as hard or harsh as it had been. I didnt figure out what it was that day that made it worse, but I gave him his pills that he gets daily a bit early that day and that stopped it. So yea for Zippy! Im so happy about him! On a side note, I can't wait till the baby is born and I can figure out a way to get a safe pic of my 7 lb dog with my 7 ish lb baby!

Thanks ladies! I don't know if you guys remember me talking about his cage and anxiety issues, but this past week we have had a huge sucess with the cage part too! Over the past 6 months he has gradually gotten better about going into his cage. He would eat his pb from the kong before he would bark and even then it was not such a crazy bark as it had been, but he would make me chase him up the stairs every am to get him to put him in the cage. The past week, he has run in the cage all on his own for his kong!!! Yea!!! Im even more happy about this cause at 6 months pregnant the stairs are getting to be a pain in the butt!
