where to begin with puppy training?

hello everyone

trying to educate myself on puppy training for when little Chanel (english staffy) enters our lives in 8 weeks!
I do not know where to begin though?
Can some one recommend links to threads or even a good book on puppy training?
I am also wondering what is this crate thing?
Completely clueless lols!

I could HUG you for doing the research before you get the puppy!

Ian Dunbar is very good - books and videos. Others I'm sure will have plenty to add. Run away from anyone who mentions pack rules or dominance.

@ Nettle..you know its actually a little longer than 8 weeks, Chanel will be born around the 27 august..i was getting ahead of myself a little hehe! The kids, hubby and i are so excited! I will Google Ian Dunbar, thank you!
