I hope she was exaggerating to emphasize her dogs house training an control. there are health issues with not being able to relieve one's self in a timely manner.

dogs can and do "hold it" for amazing amounts of time sometimes...we should be grateful when the situations arises and we have to ask for something out of the normal and they come through. and if they can't...we should offer understanding and compassion as the "accident" is on us for not giving them access to outdoors to go to the bathroom.

But as a normal...we should be taking them out at reasonable intervals so that their health and well being isn't compromised. which sounds like you are working on anyway. keep up the good work and it will pay off.
