Starting Over

Post by Herman's Human »

Hi all. Many years ago, while volunteering with a dog rescue, I was taught what I know see are counterproductive "training" methods. Over the years I came to realize my error and I've completely renounced coercion and dominance based methods. Years of regret over a well intended but misguided approach to working with dogs kept me from doing what I love. I'm starting over and hope to learn from people here. Helping dogs is a calling for me and I want to do it right. Thank you for this opportunity to learn.

Hi! One of the greatest things about this forum, imo, is that folks here are always saying things like "when you know better, you can do better". I love that this forum is focused on learning how to do better for the dogs in our lives - so you are definitely in the right place!
