Hi!
I have recently adopted a 4 year old Pomeranian Boy. I live in the UK.
He has come to me with a variety of issues! Mainly his reactivity to traffic. He barks, lunges and spins whenever he sees any form of vehicle....bikes, motorbikes, cars & lorries! Anyone offer any advice???
Many thanks

Re: Dog reactive to traffic
Hi, and welcome to the forum
Is it possible for you to take him for walks where he won't encounter so much traffic, even if it means driving somewhere? If he encounters the traffic every time he goes out, then his stress levels will always be high and it's very hard for him to learn that these things are OK. The most effective approach is to start from a distance at which he's comfortable and reward him for ignoring the traffic (which he's happy to ignore because of the distance he is from it). Then you gradually work on getting closer, but staying in his comfort zone.

This would probably get more viewings/responses if moved to the Training section
A dog is never bad or naughty - it is simply being a dog
