Hi, I'm Dawn and I am a brand-spanking new member! I live in Maryland, not far from the nation's capital, and I have two dogs.
Bruce is an albino Dobe and his BFF is a too-smart-for-her-own good Belgian Malinois named Flanders. Please note that she's named after the region, not the Simpsons character! Yes, people have asked.
I started watching It's Me Or The Dog last year and I cannot believe what some dogs get away with! Some of those dogs make mine look like Boy Scouts! I'm paying close attention to Vic's techniques and am starting to use some of them on my two jokers. My two really have to relearn the 'stay!' command.
I look forward to talking dogs with you! :D
My current crew:
Bruce the Albino Dobe; Flanders the Belgian Malinut; Leela, Scuttlebutt, and Felix, da kitties.
All much-loved but not spoiled!

Welcome Dawn, and welcome to any new members I may have missed.

I'm still working on the "stay" command myself with Tyler. He seems to think if he moves slowly enough I won't notice it. Puppies are such a hoot!

Good luck on your training!

Hi, my name is Carrie....had trouble logging on but it appears to be fixed.

I thoroughly enjoy watching It's Me or the Dog and just think Victoria is great! She does a lot of things like I do. LOL. (I train and consult on behavior issues)

Right now I have two Chihuahuas and a mix. (Pit/GSD) ? I just lost my Doberman to cancer in December....a devestating blow to me which I haven't quite come to terms with very well. He was only four.

I look forward to sharing dog stories and information....anything to do with dogs. (clearly, an obsession) :D

*hope she does this right* It's been ages since I was on a phpBB2 board. Usually I stick to blogs, be it Livejournal (or a clone) or Blogspot.

My name's Jessie, obviously, and I'm from Atlanta, Georgia. Born and raised, even, which is apparently a rarity. I love and adore dogs, though some breeds more than others (I'm more of a large breed girl myself). I have a cat named Noelle that I would walk over heaven and earth for. She's my baby girl. I got her for my dad at Christmas two years ago, but my stepmom wasn't having it. Noelle was intended to help ease the pain of losing our three cats we'd had ranging from thirteen to seventeen years. I got her back, and had intended on rehoming her. Couldn't. Fell in love so quick I didn't know what happened. And wouldn't change anything. Noelle, Noe for short, was named for the season.

I live with my godmom, a senior, who owns a Pug. Wrinkles, poor Wrinkles, is a 12-year-old girl with arthritis, little to no eyesight left, and recent diabetic. We've had her since she was about six weeks old, and she's spoiled rotten. Not necessarily the most awesome thing ever, either. But I loves her to pieces, too. Cranky though she is. Plus, she's pad trained since she can't walk outside. A 30 second walk usually takes 5 minutes each way.

Noe and Wrinkles haven't quite figured out what the other is, even two years later, but that's okay. It's amusing to watch the sniff, back up, sniff, back, turn away.

I love and adore Victoria's methods after watching them on It's Me or the Dog. As a former kennel technician, I can say that I wish more owners were more conscious of the steps needed to make a well-adjusted and behaved dog. Ever have a rambunctious towering bluetick decide you're a fun hump toy and that nothing makes it stop, you'll see why it's so important.

I intend to have a dog once I get my own place, which will be in like two years. And when I do, there will be a petsitter coming by twice a day while I'm gone to make sure the dog can go out to potty and has enough water. Plus attention. I'd do a day kenneling, but frankly after working in the business, I know how little attention and care the dogs get.

And I think you got a small book there, didn't you? Oops. *watches Peacekeeper Wars on SciFi because I'm a giant scifi dork*

Hey all,

I'm Jennifer and my family of six is currently located in Virginia Beach, VA. Although we'll be moving to New Jersey withen the next year.

My family consists of myself, my husband, our one year old daughter, our three year old son, our one year old cat, and our 7 month old boxer.

I came across this community while searching for a book by Victoria Stilwell, since our boxer is young and deseperately in need of serious training. I absolutely love her TV show, I've learned so much from it and I'd love to get her book and learn as much about training troublsome pooches, like my Gigi!

A little about Miss Gigi:

As I said above she's a 7 month old female boxer. She's fawn with a splash of white on chest and toes. She has a black mask, and looks like she has eyebrows. She's actually a very sweet dog usually. She has a few behavior issues that I'm having trouble breaking. Problems such as: jumping on anyone or anything, nipping at certain people(my hubby) or new people. She's still training, but these two issues tend to be very problematic.

Hello...new to the board here.

My name is Liz. I am currently living in Minot North Dakota. I am an Air Force Spouse. I am also a photographer.

I have a Saint Bernard Puppy who just turned a year on the 4th who is sweet as can be. She was my mothers day present but ended up being my hubby's little lady. :D They are quite the couple.

I have a Heinz 57...Georgia Anne. She can be best described as a chow corgie mix...at least that is what she most looks like.

We are also owned by two birds. Indy (after the Indianapolis Colts) who is a Sun conure, and is a very naughty girl. Then there is a parakeet named Keeting and she is a sweetie.

Okay so that is our animal family...
