Sheltie Mom

Post by Debrus »

Need suggestions. We adopted Ziva a 4 year old female sheltie in December and also have two other shelties Jake who is 3 years and Chelsey who is 12 years old.
She has been wonderful and fit right in from day one no problem at all. About a month ago she started getting really aggressive when we walk her along with our other two shelties. She barks and pulls on the harness as soon as she sees any activity from a person or a dog down the street. She is a larger sheltie about 40lbs and is hard to hold onto sometimes. We have done everything like stop and talk to her divert her attention but in a few seconds after she will do same thing again.
We love her and just want to know if anyone has any input on how to get her to calm down when walking. She is good sweet affectionate girl untils she walks. She also has started barking out the windows a lot recently. Please any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi there and welcome :D .

You'll get more views and advice if you repost in the Dog Training Advice section. When you repost could you also include a bit more detail about your dogs daily routine, everything you can think of from walks, training, what they are fed, we love long posts here so don't be afraid

Also if your new sheltie has had a full and recent vet check.
Operant conditioning rocks but classical conditioning rules
