I started watching the show two years ago and I think it's great. I had no idea there was a message board until I started searching for dog training info. I adopted my first dog three weeks ago, although my roommate has two dogs, so I've been around dogs fort the last two years.
The dog I adopted was being given away by his previous owners who had no time to address his issues. He is going to be 7 months old next week and is a Border Terrier / Jack Russell mix (from all I've read about the two breeds, he looks and acts more like a Border Terrier). I feel that he is young enough to get over his issues, and I definitely have the time to work with him. Over all he is a good, affectionate and playful dog. I'm amazed how smart he is. We started a local beginning obedience training class with the clicker two weeks ago but I'm not impressed with the instructor or her method so far, so I will be asking lots of questions here.
