I tried to get a picture of Jasper investigating the 'fluff' from the bullrushes in the pond, but he came out when he saw me delving in my bag for my phone. I think he thought the fluff on the water might be bunny rabbit carcasses...



Off to find the bunny all that fluff came off?









People always think this is him trying to get his muzzle off, but I don't think it is - he just likes to have a good scratch on his face and occasionally the whole body joins in

Seeing as Onyx and Ami do the same thing without anything on their face, I think that's certainly a possibility. Jasper looks so elegant!

Ted does it too, usually means he's found either some fox poo or a worm and I applying liberally to his face before flipping onto his back for a good wriggle

Pippin does that on top of his little yellow ball. Don't ask me why.

He usually does it when its dusty, and makes himself look a mess with a shabby coat, and I get the blame for making him all dusty with the grinders etc. It's not me, it's self-inflicted 'ming'.

Fish guts, dead moles, rabbit carcass and expired mice all have a similar allure on Pippin, but I've never seen Odin rolling about in anything, not once.

Thanks for all the lovely comments - I'm not sure he looks that elegant in the face-rubbing photos though I'm glad to say he's happy to rub himself in earth and mud and doesn't make a bee-line for stinky icky stuff

Yep, Emmabeth has a saluki and a deerhound, I think (is that right? ), and Nettle has a collection of pointies. Horace's Mum has a collie x lurcher. So we'rein good company
