Like Emmabeth, I have never been a fan of chis. But awww! Ted seems so wonderful. It's so refreshing to see someone treating a chi with respect and like an actual dog. Sometimes I wonder if the reason they're often so nippy and yappy is simply because of how they get treated. I've never met one that I've not been scared of (big dogs don't scare me, but small nippy ones do!) but I reckon I'd fall in love with him. <3

I think you're right, I've seen loads of barky, yappy Chis and I'm convinced it's a lack of exercise, socialisation and training that makes them this way and gives them that glassy eyed stare. They're so small it's easy to forget that they are dogs, just in tiny packaging, but if you took a large breed dog, carried it everywhere in a handbag , dressed it up, did no training and never walked it then imagine the nightmare you'd have

Lots of people have commented that Ted isn't like a chihuahua because of how calm he is, which is such a shame (not for Ted obviously but other Chis) as I don't think I've worked miracles, just picked a good breeder and then treated him like a dog

Ted sleeps in his own bed at night but when his Dad gets up we usually have a snooze for a while together (I love his puppy smell and furry little body snuggled in my armpit). Trouble is Ted then takes some persuading to get up to go for his morning walk ... here he is this morning, complete with "bed ears" ...

It was a beautiful day one day last week and rather than hurry home I sat on a bench to relax for a bit and take in the view and give Ted a chance to snuffle around on his long line for a bit. He did a bit of sniffing about then plonked himself in front of me and stared into the distance too, couldn't resist the photo opportunity. He looks like he's pondering life but infact he's spotted a lab waaaay off in the distance and is sitting, waiting on the off chance it might come our way
