Re: Ted
Brilliant stuff, Ted is really a great ambassador for wee tiny doglets - and I have to confess I have not been a Chi fan up til now, but I looooooooooooooove Ted!
Have you tried editing the vid within Youtube, I think you can flip it in there, though I am not sure, I'm just getting my head around sticking vids from my iPod onto youtube myself.

Re: Ted
Ahhh, I understand the stigma with Chis, but I suspect as with other breeds that get labelled its the owners rather than the dogs But it means a lot to me that Ted has converted you a bit
I did briefly try to flip it round on You Tube but after the trauma of getting off my phone onto my laptop then editing it, then creating a You Tube Channel then uploading it I was IT exhausted Maybe I'll have another crack at it later

Re: Ted
He is gorgeous, and looks so serious for a little pup!
Most Chi's I've seen tend to be far too fat, yappy little brats so it's lovely to see your Ted being so lovely and happy and doggy

Ted v the toilet roll ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eHJ4OOvC7U
I made some liver treats yesterday with garlic and egg in them which was something new for Ted. He went mental for them, so much so that when I made him this puzzle that he usually cracks reasonably quickly he'd lost any ability to think and went for scratching it repeatedly. It ends on a cliff hanger, will he, won't he crack it, as I ran out of storage space on my phone but he did settle later a few minutes later and work it out The towel looks a bit like something out of a horror film as he'd had rabbit for dinner earlier on

Re: Ted
Ted, the fashion section (he shivers like anything without a coat on now its getting colder)!
His autumn wear gilet, stops him getting soaked and as a bonus it's easier to wash fox poo off this than a chi
6 months old today and out in his new winter coat, the gilet just wasn't cutting it anymore

Ah thanks Judy, he's a looker alright
And now, especially for you, as you said you'd never seen a chihuahua walk on a loose leash before, Ted loose leash walking Please ignore my early morning disheveled attire and my constant Brummie chatting to him

Re: Ted
That's brilliant, Clare I should really make more effort with Jasper. He often wanders in front of me, behind me, from side to side, sniffs the verge... but almost always keeps the lead loose, even if I shorten it, so I tend to settle for it as 'good enough'.

Re: Ted
Thank you We practice this in short bursts which I'm steadily building up and also reducing the treats. I don't need him to heel or to do it perfectly but I want to be able to get from a to b with him trotting along beside me when I need him to as in busy streets it's the only way to keep him safe from feet etc. He's already good at this and I think the short bursts are paying off as he will involuntarily "heel" along side me on his long line for treats sometimes and if I shorten the long line and put him into position on the left hand side of me he'll trot along until I start throwing him more line out as his cue to have some freedom again.
This, "leave it" (poo eating obsession) and recall are the things I have focussed on most obedience wise as they are most important to me for his safety (and obviously he learnt sit early on), most other stuff we do is games etc. Stay, down etc etc can wait until I have the important stuff cracked, I think this varies from dog to dog, Jasper's unlikely to get trampled if he's ahead/behind you whereas Ted could easily be squished

Awww he's so good! Pops will heel for a treat, and then once she gets the treat she'll be off again! I can get about 30econds worth of heel with her and thats it!
Ben sounds a bit like Jasper, he doesn't pull as such, but he meanders about from side to side sniffing. Ths was fine walking with one dog, but gets you in a horrible tangle walking 3!

Re: Ted
Bendog that is the result of 2 months of short bursts of loose leash training 3 to 4 times a day. Other than that he is largely on a long line or carried if I need to get from a to b quickly, I realise that this is something most people can't do as their pups are too big but it has enabled me to not ruin his training. We live off a busy high street that we need to walk through to get to decent open space and on a morning I just bundle him through in my arms then he walks the last few minutes up to the Heath then he goes on his long line then back to his short leash to walk home. Some days it's the last thing I want to do with him but I refuse to give up until we have this proofed as I take him everywhere with me and once he is able to walk further as he gets older I will get my payback
The place we filmed that clip he always loose leash walks so we cheated a bit , yesterday we took him through a park we don't use that often and it was harder work, but he's getting there
