charging at next door

Post by minnie »

Hi There
I am considering buying Victorias first book. My dog is 3 years old is an American Bulldog. He has started charging at my neighbour through the fence. At the moment it is the holidays and he has his grandchildren round and my dog is doing the same to them. Can you help me and tell me what to do, and is there this sort of advice in the book, because I have lots more I need to learn, and I am hopeing that the book can help in many ways.
Hope anyone can help or give some

There are many reasons why your dog may be exhibiting this behavior, and the book covers many of them. Mostly, the book is a general how-to guide that helps you understand how to see things from the dog's perspective in order to more effectively find out how or why the dog is behaving in a certain way. So I'm sure the book will help some.
Victoria always recommends hiring a qualified positive reinforcement trainer to help with behavior issues.
Hope that helps!

I thank you for wanting to correct this behavior and to do it in a positive manner especially before your neighbor and the rest of the neighborhood bans against you.

Dogs need responsible owners and the neighbors want them as well.

I agree, check out a good positive trainer for this before it escalates.

Hi Minnie

Please post your question in the training section of the forum, that way you will get more responces and lots of help. Also include as much details as you can about your dog - daily schedule, how the charging happens, etc
