Boxer dog?

Hi all

My niece is set on getting a boxer , long story short she has done her research but I'm unsure of some of the things she was told about them by breeders . She also has not been told what can potentially go wrong with a boxer or what boxers bad points are.

Could anyone tell me what could go wrong with a boxer. According breeders she has spoke to they are

1\ not naturally aggressive to other dogs but can have problems with the same sex?

2\ big at passing wind

They told her that there the tow breed quirk's , everything else that can go wrong is the same as any breed like pulling on the lead if not trained not to. Timid, nervous and even aggression if not socialised enough. Ect

Is there any thing else she should be aware of before getting a boxer that the breeders may not have told her about?

Also these are the things she learnt about them are any of these true

1\ they look intimidating to strangers but are big clowns really and are just as friendly as a Labrador?

2\ a good choice for a first dog?

3\ easy to train but can be the class clown and just needs patience?

4\ needs lots of physical and mental exercise?

5\ very loyal to there people?

6\ even though they were bred to be guard dogs good breeders have bred this out as there so friendly?

Is any of this true?

I know they tend to be clumsy, friendly and playful. What I would say, though, which may be enough to make them unsuitable for first-time owners, is that in my experience other dogs often don't like them, possibly due to them having quite an upright, forward stance and staring eyes. Naturally, it should be the other persons's responsibility to control their dog, but often they simply don't. So you need to be confident to deal with a situation where another dog attacks your dog.
