DNA is back on Rylie and George :)

Post by Ryliesmom »

Hi everybody!! Happy August!

About 2 weeks ago I sent out a DNA test for both Rylie and George, and I got the results today. I was pretty shocked about Rylie and sort of surprised by no min pin in George.
So here are the results:
Rylie (the all black dog in the photos) 10 lbs, about 11 inches tall
One parent: mixed: chihuahua and pomeranian/lab/plott hound/dashchund/westie/black and tan coonhound.
Other parent...are you ready for this?!?!?!
Purebred Weimaraner!!!
no wonder she acts like a big dog in a little body, she's got bid dog genes to live up to :)

Now George:
one parent: chihuahua
other parent: rat terrier

there are a couple of pictures here, I will upload more of Rylie :)

This was very fun to find out :)

Hi there - I never thought about DNA testing for those with mixed breeds. I think it would be fun sometimes to know what the 'mix' is! I had a rescue dog a few years back and often wondered what she was mixed with. Our family had many good-natured discussions over that trying to solve the puzzle!

Wow, you're Rylie is really a wild variety of breeds, isn't he? :D But it all came together to make one beautiful dog! Both your dogs are sweeties.

The DNA testing is not at all reliable, so while it's a bit of fun, don't take it seriously.
