Nail caps/covers?

Post by Erica »

Just wondering what the general opinion on them is? I may suggest them to Ami and Zeus's owners to keep their nice new floors nicer for longer, but I haven't had any experience with them so I don't know.

Some of the reviews say the dogs don't like them (possibly a sizing issue?). I think they're a good idea and they could be very useful if used correctly (sized correctly/nails trimmed properly before application), but again haven't used them myself so I don't know.

Sounds like a rather unnatural thing for a dog....

Hmmm, can't say I'd want to put these on a dog, if you think about having a temporary false nail applied it does feel odd so I assume these would to the dog, who would have no idea why you were applying them. I'd never heard of them so googled and it seems they are stuck on with glue, I wouldn't want to put toxins on the dog, especially as I would imagine it would try to bite/chew them off!

Plus new floors etc are like expensive new clothes, you keep them pristine for a few wears/days, hanging them carefully to breathe then before you know it you're throwing them on the floor in a heap and digging them out days later, shaking them and putting them on in a crumpled mess, or maybe that's just me

Perhaps an easier solution would be to see if they could get used to dog booties? Although it seems like maybe they should have thought about the fact they have 2 huge dogs when they bought the flooring!

Also, Clare, you are not alone
