Hand Targeting Success!

Post by Wicket »

Yesterday, I trained my dogs (separately) to hand target. Using the same hand that I got to get the treats, I gestured with an open hand like Victoria does with "touch." Since my hand smelled good, the dog sniffed and I clicked it. By the end of the session, they were volunteering the behavior as I changed the angle of my hand and shifted my body weight. I continued three more sessions throughout the day. My Poodle was even jumping up slightly to touch her nose to my hand!:D

Good job. I love targeting; it's one of the simplest tools to master. 8)
