I have a 7yr old male lab with a food/possession aggression. He's only aggressive towards other dogs or cats. He's never been aggressive towards me. I have done a lot of obedience and rally training with a local trainer using only positive reinforcement techniques. I don't have multiple dogs in my house but when he stays with my parents they have multiple dogs, which know each other's boundries until my parents just got a new puppy. Nickel, my lab, bite the puppy during food prep last weekend. I'm just not sure how to use positive reinforcement to work on this issue since me having the food/treat/toy will lead to the aggression. Also, we're not around other dogs on a regular basis to work on the training and most people don't want to volunteer their dogs for training. Any suggestions on how to get started would be great.
