I picked up two good ideas tonight on how to, hopefully, get my 7 month old Jack Russell ***** to behave herself and do as I say. One was useing a clicker and one a whistler. Problem is I can't remember when the click and or whistle a was used. Before the treat, same time or after. I hope someone watched and can help me. Slight 'elderly moment' here Thanks.
The clicker or whistle is used just before the food reward, therefore the sound of the click or the whistle is the precursor to the food. Dogs will begin to associate these sounds with a reward. The treat should be given as quickly as possible after the click or the whistle.
