Happy Birthday!
Grammy to Sky and Sirius, who came to live with me, stole my heart, and changed my life forever as I took over their care and learned how to be a dog owner.

Re: Happy Birthday, Wvvdiup1!
Thanks Everyone!
Had a great time for my birthday with one little embarrassing moment in which I will tell soon enough. As some of you know, my boyfriend is a state police officer with one heck of a sense of humor. He arranged a nice dinner party at a nice restaurant, hired a driver and a car, and got some costumes. You should have seen the surprise on my face when I saw what happens next!
The car arrived on schedule but it wasn't a limousine, it was a 1964 Ford Galaxy/Mercury Crown Victoria LTD police cruiser and the driver was a retired police officer we all know from the area, dressed in period police uniform with all the accessories! Yes, that includes handcuffs, too!
Not only that, the costumes were obviously retro-black-and-white-strip jump suits (the ones you can get out of quickly by unzipping and getting out), however, the handcuffs were real! My boyfriend's on-duty friends "arrested" us, made us (boyfriend & I) put on the jump suits, then handcuffed us with the "old handcuffs", before putting us in the back of the 1964 police cruiser! My thoughts at the time were I hope no one saw us, no one video-recorded us, and hopefully the video cameras on the current police cars were turned off, but somehow, I doubt that! In addition, I'm thinking "What the heck is the deal with my boyfriend and handcuffs?", "Did he become a police officer because he likes the handcuffs?", and other numerous questionable thoughts going through my head. But, the most embarrassing part didn't occur yet!
We traveled to the restaurant with two of the current police cars escorting us (don't want anything to happen to 1964 police car, do we?) without any incident. However, upon arriving, we got out of the car (the 1964 police car), unzipped the costumes, but wait! Here comes the most embarrassing part: the old handcuffs would not release! They did everything they could to get those old, heavy handcuffs off, until the retired police officer came up with a backup plan: WD40! Finally, the handcuffs came off and we were able to get the costumes completely off, before heading into the restaurant, where I was still hoping no one saw anything!
Needless to say, the company of the dinner guests and ourselves (boyfriend & I) had a great time, the food and service was great, and now we have a lot of "fond memories" to share! Can't wait for boyfriend's birthday to come, because I have a surprise in store for him!

oooh i would be willing to bet one of the officers videoed this ....have cops in my family. I just can't see all those officers passing up an opportunity like this.

Ooooh, hope not, Jacksdad! I may want to run for public office and will not want any videos of this coming to public view!

Oh my. I'm glad you had a good time.
If an opportunity comes to you in life, say yes first, even if you don't know how to do it.

When you think about it, yes I did! Just wish my boyfriend could get away from handcuffs, though! We've got plenty of "fond memories" linking to handcuffs now!Oh my. I'm glad you had a good time.
Can you imagine what it is going to be like should he propose marriage?

Old jokes are the best.....
"Would you like the bridal suite?"
"No thanks, I've brought handcuffs"

I think my boyfriend and I are done with the "handcuff thing" (I hope forever) , because we have enough "fond memories with handcuffs" to last the rest of our lives!
Thank you all for the birthday wishes! I also would like to thank CoolDog for posting this on the forums and I am glad she didn't post my age!
