MY DOG ATE WHAT??

Post by maximoo »

Hey Gang: There's new show on the Nat Geo Wild network called "My Dog Ate What?" I've seen a few episodes & it's unbelievable what some dogs eat. A lab pup swallowed a whole corn on the cob with skewer attached! It is amazing! A Rottie had swallowed an unidentifiable plastic/rubbery thing which perforated the intestines. After 2 surgeries he he was fine Total vet cost...$18,000!!

I'm not sure when it comes on but eveyrbody should try to watch it 8)

I think I saw one where the dog ate like 14 pacifiers. The x-ray looked really weird.

I'm boggled by this bit of information -- not only by the idea that a dog would eat 27 pacifiers,
but also that someone would have 27 pacifiers to begin with, and all stored/dropped within
the dog's reach for him/her to eat. Does Costco sell pacifiers in bulk or something?

I'm soooo grateful that Seraph sticks to stealing and eating digestible food items!

Odds-on they also have a very stressed dog! (and that the parents are wondering what's hit them also).

Still... that's NINE pacifiers PER CHILD!!! I can see having two per child, but not nine. And by the time they start walking it's time to wean off the pacifiers. One of my favorite pet peeves is seeing a three year old with a pacifier in her mouth. The dog isn't the only one in the family who's stressed.

There were 27 in his stomach but previously he pooped some bits out so it is logical to think he swallowed at least 1 more if not a few. :P

I read about a dog who belonged to a young couple, had ingested something, the vet did the surgery and when the couple came to pick up the dog he showed them the fishnet stockings the dog had eaten.

Problem was they didn't belong to the wife. Ooops! Hubby was busted.

Some dogs eat the strangest objects. its impossible to puppy proof 100% A bull dog ate (swallowed it whole)the bottom portion of a hanger. Who on earth would think that a dog would swallow the long rod portion (about a foot long) of a hanger? And dogs swallow toys/ balls all the time. Yes owners must be vigilent at all times, but there are some things you would never imagine a dog would ingest.
