Bleurrrrrrrrgh!

I think if i passed out, Errol would do that - dont think i have a nasty infection but Errol is ADDICTED to licking between peoples toes, and if he thinks your other toe is in the way he will start to try and chew it off so he has access to between your toes. Obviously we yelp and he stops!

Oh ewwww. I've encountered many cases over the years where dogs
have chewed on their owners, but in all of those cases the people were
deceased before the munching started. I'm glad it had a positive ending,
but the chewing off bits of someone still breathing gives me the shudders.

Wow, he must really have been out not to notice that going on.

I bet Cadence would jump at the chance to nibble my toes off

That's very disgusting though, for dog & owner. But hey, if he waited longer they may have had to amputate MORE than just the toe..

That's so true! Having diabetes is bad enough, so the owner was lucky, if you want to use that word, his dog chewed his toe off; otherwise, as Forkin14 said "they may have had to amputate MORE than just the toe!" When you're a diabetic, you don't want to wait later when you have a problem now, because diabetes is aggressive.

While we all get over feeling queasy, this is just another ordinary everyday dog behaviour. Dogs will sometimes chew growths off themselves and each other, will chew off gangrenous limbs, will niggle at wounds they have, so why not extend that service to the owner?

Just being a dog
