How do I keep an active dog still for two weeks?

Post by DawnStorm »

Last evening Flanders the Malinut hurt her leg. I nasty slash/cut right at her left elbow. She's fine now, after being at the vet's all day getting stitched up. The vet was very specific: keep her still and quiet for the next two weeks!! I have a better chance of stopping a tidal wave. :? I intend to do the following:
Keep her crated (or at least confined to my room) when no one is home; I might get her a big knuckle bone to chew on; Flanders will either wear the lampshade or the inflatable tire thingee at all times. When she does go out, she will be on a leash, and it will only be long enough to use the bathroom. How on earth do I keep her quiet, and keep her and BFF Bruce from rassling? I just know that both of us will be hating life for the rest of the month!
Is there a doggie straitjacket out there????
My current crew:
Bruce the Albino Dobe; Flanders the Belgian Malinut; Leela, Scuttlebutt, and Felix, da kitties.
All much-loved but not spoiled!

Been there. Didn't enjoy it much. You have my most sincere sympathies,
and so does poor Flanders! I ended up using a crate, lots of food in small
bits, and endless chew toys. And isolation, even on potty walks. It was
awful for everybody, but visitors (other dogs) had her revved up from the
moment they came into sight. I spent as much time with her as i could,
though she made it plain that doggie company would have been preferred then.

Take care, both of you!
