Hi, I've just seen an episode where Victoria recommended these little car seat carriers for two little fluffy white dogs that insisted on sitting in the drivers lap. They look perfect for my two little toy poodles but I've googled and googled and can't find anything similar.
They were kind of a big box that hung off the back of the seat.

You can find them at www.drsfostersmith.com. Do a search on the site for car seats, then make sure to view all. (The intial search brings up car seat covers.)
Hope this helps!

I use a harness attached to the seatbelts by a very short lead to keep my dogs on the back seat and find this works every well. Twice I have had the caravan hit when travelling and my dogs were safe and uninjured.

They are available on ebay search for dog car seat.
I saw the custom ones that were selling on ebay for $75-$100 and made one.

It is a basket with a frame made of pvc and fabric covered. The photos don't show it, but I thread the vehicle's seatbelt thru the back of the frame to lock it in place. Boo's seat has bumper pads so the plastic basket is completely covered. He uses a padded travel harness in the seat. He is so petite that I think any extra padding that could keep him safe in the event of an accident is good.
If you would like more detailed instructions just let me know.
My Boo is a whopping 4lbs of toy poodle. He loves his seat, he can see out the window or lay down and nap.
