Pet Ownership, Stress and Health in Single Mothers

Post by Jkoontz »

Hello,
I am a psychology professor. My area of research is directed toward evaluating if pet ownership can alleviate stress and promote social support and positive health in single mothers.

If you are a single mother (or know of someone who is), I invite you to participate in my study by clicking the link below and responding to a very brief survey. YOU DO NOT NEED TO OWN A PET. However, you do need to be a single mother.

This research is being conducted through a reputable university. We are not selling anything. All respondents will remain anonymous and no identifiable information is collected.

The outcome of this study will determine if stress reductions centers that allow single mothers and their children to interact with pets, namely well-behaved dogs, would inhibit stress, promote positive health and provide a viable form of social support.
