rescue staffy

Post by Jenny1 »

I've recently adopted a staffy *****. She's been in kennels for best part of a year so we are learning basic manners. However she's been clean in the house from the start. However she does appear a little lead aggressive. Anyone any ideas

Keep her far away enough from other dogs that she is relaxed and takes treats, give her a treat when she sees a dog, and then walk further away from the other dog. Over time, you should be able to reduce the distance from other dogs.

And always keep your body between her and other dogs. Staffords are people-lovers not dog-lovers. Some Staffs like some dogs, but most would far rather be friends with people.
