Hands on experience?

Post by Houndlover »

Hi

I decided that the best way to know what dog is right for me is to get hands on experience before owning a dog so I can see what I am and am not capable of.

The problem is there are no near rescue to were I live the nearest is a good 20miles in the middle of nowere and I don't have a car and they don't have the facilities to pick me up.

And none of the boarding kennels or training classes near me allow volunteers :( .

How else could I get Hands on experience if rescue, boarding kennels are not an option?

The only thing I found was to be a puppy walker for guide dogs?

You could try an organisation like The Cinnamon Trust, which supports older people to care for their dogs.
