Guess the mix- and the age!

Post by JudyN »

This is OH's sister's dog, Molly:

We were at OH's mum's house and Jasper had to stay behind the fireguard as his mum's idea of 'there's nothing edible left out' doesn't seem to cover sweets, biscuits, bread, etc., to say nothing of various medicines....

I didn't manage to get a decent side-on shot of Molly, but this one shows her waistline nicely:

She's a rescue dog, so what do you reckon her mix is? Spaniel x collie?

She's 15 years old, deaf, and wears a nappy at night (which I know isn't recommended, but hasn't caused a problem so far, and she actually comes over and lies down for it to be put on), and doesn't want to go too far on walks - but I think they've done a great job of keeping her trim :D

My guess is Border Collie X Blue Heeler. :?:

Looks a lot like a shorthaired springer x border collie, spots and all. I've seen lots of pictures of them on our sprollie fb group. I think it is a rather common mix "in the English countryside" so also highly likely. :) Looking good for 15!

Definitely collie

Probably spaniel

Possibly JRT

MBF Blue Heelers are rare as rocking-horse ordure here, so while that would be a sensible assumption where you are, it's unlikely for this dog. :)

Thank you :D

I think spaniel is probable, because when she was younger she had that scurrying spaniel busyness, like a whirligig beetle

Looks nothing like any sprollie I've ever seen. Looks very much like my terrier with something a bit bigger thrown in, possibly collie
