I have permission from Karen Peak to cross post this to here. Karen is a trainer/behaviourist in the USA.

Connor was having a bad handling day. He allowed himself to fluster a bit and forgot Foster had back legs. The judge was also FAST.

The video was taken today at the Rock Creek Kennel Club show. Foster was overlooked for WD or Reserve but the competition was HARSH for a small show and Foster is still immature. On top of it all, Foster has four stitches in his right side. He ticked off D'Argo who just nailed him. We saw a new vet at the clinic and she was able to put the hole together and barely shaved! No one saw the wound.

Between yearling shed and summer shed, it was hard to make him look like he had hair. The other dogs were there, several with a big handler, they were trying to get minors. But he is cute and the judge's wife (Stein) was sitting next to us and said Connor and Foster are a good match. Connor still has a lot to learn about handling but at least the judge's wife said that my attitude towards my kids showing, keeping Connor out of Jrs due to the Hyperlexia (Autism Spectrum) is good. She said it was nice to see a parent not creating a monster child or pushing a child to excel and making him hate it or doing all the work and handing the child the lead. I said that Connor wanted to show, he does UKC but wanted to try AKC a bit and has done most of the work with Foster on his own. She said they will do just fine together. I did not realize at first that she was a judge as well until I saw her name tag when she turned.

Connor hoping to finish Foster's UKC Ch this summer but Doug has to travel the weekend we were hoping to go to NJ. I got a local club to offer Shelties in Warrenton, VA in Sept so hopefully that show will be it so we can go for a GrCh. Connor has gotten a Best of Winners with Foster already.

Karen sent me this one yesterday, I couldn't stop laughing. Connor is in the previous clip, Sarah is 4 years old. This is what she said.

Connor and Sarah took this yesterday. I gave one simple instruction - OK - two: Do not bug me while I am in the ring and keep the camera on Ravyn.

:D Thanks for sharing, good show & all that! The dog is simply beautiful and the kids, wow, too funny. I am a roller coaster nutt so no pills needed, but the video did cause some flash backs to my college days...

Connor did GREAT! I have a son with Autism, so I know the struggles and he was fantastic! Big round of applause... :P

It was interesting that the judge was so impatient. I wonder how well trained HIS dogs are.

I love that the mom is using dogs with her son. My brother had some serious behaviorial problems, and getting a dog really helped. Bud (a lab/golden mix) was a loyal friend and helper to a kid who didn't have many friends.

And, I loved the sideways filming, "look, mom, I turned it sideways." That was fun! Good job, Connor!
