meet Spencer

Post by Sarah83 »

We have acquired a Labrador called Spencer. Just a chance enquiry on a facebook group and I am no longer dogless  Spencer is a year old, not neutered, good with children, adults, dogs and horses. His previous owners have had to give him up due to being rushed back to the UK. He needs a little training, almost yanked me over on the walk back here (they live just around the corner!) but that's no big deal. A Lab certainly suits us much better than the husky pup would have!

Don't have any particularly good pictures, he doesn't stay still long enough!

Tell me about it! Wasn't expecting one quite so soon myself. Especially not at half past 9 at night.

Thank you. I felt so, so awful walking off with him when his family were so clearly upset at having to part with him. I know how devastated I would feel in their shoes

Yippee! A new dog for Sarah. Sky would approve of the yellow lab look.
Grammy to Sky and Sirius, who came to live with me, stole my heart, and changed my life forever as I took over their care and learned how to be a dog owner.

I hear you, but they and Spencer were VERY fortunate to find you.

heard that one before...here is hoping it's true this time....or maybe not  Just kidding. I am hoping it's true. it would open up training opportunities you wouldn't possibly get with a fearful dog.

Lol, yeah, I'm hoping it's true too Jacksdad. He lived with small children and was actually very gentle around them from what we saw so that's one good thing. Apparently has a thing for dirty nappies though! He also lived with guinea pigs and made no attempts to eat them. No signs of fearfulness yet, he seems a happy, confident guy so fingers crossed he stays that way!

I woke this morning to find myself sharing a bed with one Labrador, 2 Kongs, 4 tug toys and a tennis ball. Apparently he found where I'd put Ruperts toys and figured they needed to be in a nice comfy bed rather than in a pile on the floor.
