Wow! It's great hearing about how far they've come. They are gorgeous. You're obviously doing a great job. They look quite calm about the rug.

Lovely pictures! Everyone looks so happy!
Grammy to Sky and Sirius, who came to live with me, stole my heart, and changed my life forever as I took over their care and learned how to be a dog owner.

OOOOOHHHHHH thankyouthankyou for the pictures - and the update of course. How smart we look in our fluoro sheet.

Oh I love the nose to the camera shots, their confidence is really growing!
I didn't know whether to mention it though but you've got a bit of mud on your trousers

I think they need more socialisation... can we all come and give them cuddles, please?

Re: Gossip and Oya
Thanks guys, I will come and give you a good update after the weekend then.
Jacksdad, thanks for asking about Horus, he has been incredible with Robin, accepted him like he has always been here!! Literally loves him to bits, on the second evening he was here H just jumped up on the sofa and curled up asleep next to him (the first visit I cheated and gave him a bone for the evening!). I always said Horus would choose my man, and so he has, very definitely and without hesitation

Gossip is looking very grown up now, bless him. I met my cousin's horse at the weekend, she does positive training and watching her get him to move with very subtle gestures was amazing. He was a rescue, found on the railway line, collar grown into his neck, he is now a gorgeous confident boy. She popped his rain coat on with it flapping in the wind around him and he didn't bat an eyelid. (If you want to see him he's the first horse on this blog post, rather than clog up your thread http://tinkerwolf.com/2012/06/07/in-whi ... me-horses/)

Re: Gossip and Oya
Well we had a really good day yesterday, so you've got an early update!!
I picked up my friend's lorry yesterday for the show on Saturday, and decided to spend some time getting the ponies used to it before taking them on a longer trip to Penrith.
Gossip bless him more or less walked straight up, step by step, lots of carrots but never once looked back! In 4 goes he was walking quietly up and down the ramp on a loose lead. Well chuffed.
Oya was a different matter. Refused point blank to move any feet, forwards or backwards. Took her half an hour just to sniff the ramp. In the end I put Gossip on and then walked her front feet up one at a time until she decided it would be easier to go up than to do the splits!!
Took them over to Chariots, not far from me, but somewhere safe they could be unloaded and loaded, with a few things to see. Travelled well, Gossip unloaded like a pro, Oya planted her feet and had to be walked down one foot at a time the same way we got her on!!
They saw more ponies than they have done since leaving the herd, a hissing goose, and went nose to nose with a couple of pigs, not phased at all. Oya met a carriage and watched the unicorn being put to and driving off - never batted an eyelid.
Gossip loaded like a dream, but then got very bored waiting for Oya to load, and decided that standing on back legs and putting his head through the roof was a good option - he is fine (not a very solid roof), but it's a good job I have very good friends  Hopefully he has learned that standing on four legs is more conducive to comfort. He certainly wasn't worried or bothered, just bored.
In the end we tried a towel behind Oya and she loaded fine. Once we got home I dug out my figure of 8 line that I used to teach her to walk - she resists pressure on the lead rope but works well with pressure from behind - and me and Robin spent half an hour taking her up and down, up and down, until she was happy to do it on a loose rope next to me. Did the same with Gossip and then they both went back out in the field to chill. So pleased with them, they behaved so well with the exception of that slight hiccup from Gossip, and I can't wait for Saturday now!!
Sorry for the essay, just so proud of them

Brilliant!
They obviously don't know that ponies are supposed to be scared of piggies

What, no photos of Gossip installing a sun roof in the horse box then?
They're looking great and are coming on so well. The piggies are rather cute too!
