Hey... give people a chance your poll was only up for an hour!
Whilst I am in Bossy Mode - please check before you hit 'submit' that your post is not all in capitals - I can see what you have done, accidentally had capslock on, but there is no edit function so check before you post, as capitals are very hard to read.
Bossy Mode off - now ill go read your post and vote, always love a poll

Ok, jeeeeeez, NO. No No No No No.
She needs to sort out her existing dogs problems before taking on anything else.
By most peoples standards my house is a filth-pit, filth however (obviously not a dangerous level of filth) is not something dogs are particularly bothered by, so thats not the problem here.
What IS the problem is that this lady is clearly not dealing with the problems her current dogs have. Ask your daughter (NOT that it is her decision, it is YOURS), would she be happy if the pup ended up crated and aggressive?
Im sure she would not be, I'm sure she will probably say that that would not happen to this puppy, but thats just not good enough.
Say no, mean no, and if needs be, explain why. It is not fair on the puppy, nor on the existing dogs.
You dont have to explain anything unless they actually ask you, just say no.
You are right, keeping dogs crated all the time, failing to take steps to deal with a dogs aggression (which likely stems from fear and from lack of socialisation and exercise) is unkind, possibly cruel and it shows that this person has neither the skills, the time, or the interest, to sort them out.

Re: HELP HAVE ISSUE
There is a lot going on in your post, so I'll go through it a bit at a time:
rings warning bells
not mother's fault
ah, there's the problem
you said earlier that it was your daughter's dog that had the puppies. Was it her dog before she left home, and she left her with you? Have you clearly established with your daughter that they are your puppies, even though you say the ***** is your daughters?
My advice would be to establish exactly who has the last word about homing the puppies - all of them. It seems odd that your daughter tells you all about the situation with the existing dogs and yet wants one of the pups to go there, so I personally wouldn't want her to have a say in placing any of the pups. When you establish that it is you who decide where the pups are to be placed, tell your daughter that as a responsible person you will only let the pups go to homes where any existing dogs are not 'work in progress' with issues.
Maybe your daughter has already promised a pup to mother in law. That would actually be a good thing IMO, because then she would have to explain why it is not possible this time, but maybe she could suggest a way of rehabilitating the dog in the crate - or suggest mother-in-law joins the forum
So I'd vote no, on the basis of the dog in the crate.
not really relevant unless it is a health hazardDEBBIE2569 wrote:THE HOUSE IS DISGUSTING DIRTY SMELLY NOT CLEAN

If the dog never comes out of the crate apart from toileting this needs reporting to the RSPCA or similar. Keeping a dog like this can turn a dog aggressive.
When my husband died 16 months ago it was my dogs that gave me a reason to get up every morning, feed myself and do normal human things. Without my dogs my life would have been a lot harder especially over Christmas which was 6 weeks after hubby passed away.

I wouldnt have given them a pup either, but purley for the reason on the dog in a crate issues.
All the other stuff is not aat all relevent. I know lots of folks that would say a house is dirty and then others would say it was acceptable.... jeez you should see mine on dog wash day lol
Anyway. I think the dog in the crate needs to be sorted asap. Stick them in a crate 24/7 see how they would like it.
But you see, me being a gobshite would have just told them no and the reason.... Sorry not really one to beat about the bush.
