I'm sure you'll get lots of useful advice from other people, so just a couple of things: I walk my dogs in all weathers. Bad weather tires them out! If they are on high-protein dried food, get them off it - some dogs are off the wall on food like that. Change to the lowest protein food with as littl...

Please tell your vet and say you'd like him/her to fill in an Adverse Reaction form, and also add the info to her notes. Vets don't like filling in the AR forms - more paperwork - then what happens is the drugs companies and their reps have no idea there are any reactions - and can be quite offensiv...

It's a good warning and well worth passing on. Parasite treatments have to be toxic or they don't kill the parasites - and some dogs will be sensitive to some treatments.

Glad Ellie has recovered.

Depends what happens when she is not having kennel time, and how long 'all day long' is. For instance, on a work day (I assume you are both in full-time work?) it won't matter a jot to the dog if she is left in the house or in her kennel (I assume you mean an outdoor kennel with a run attached?) so ...

Sounds as if you are doing well :)

We might not like the idea of a kennel, but to a dog it is 'own space' like those dens we used to make when we were children - and how we longed to have our own room if we had to share!

How and when and how much do you walk her?

You certainly like a challenge don't you :D Three big dogs he can't see or hear, only smell and feel. Scary. A new home and new people he can't see or hear, only smell or feel. Scary. Put lead on him and lead him outside every hour, like you would a puppy. Reward the way he likes when he performs, a...

JRTs and Lurchers go well together, they seem to compliment each other

They can also get into a LOT of mischief together - unless OP is willing to put in lots and lots of training :D

Understand the concept of fear - it has no intellect to it - it is a raw emotion. To stop your dogs being fearful, you need to be a safe place. This starts with walking them separately so they HAVE to react to you and not each other. With the parked vehicles - sensible dogs - get between the dog and...

He is joining the family in a dog way. He is choosing the place that smells most of YOU and making it smell of him. This is a great opportunity to teach the family to shut doors. Take him out often and reward him when he pees in the right place (as it was a huge puddle, he mst have been waiting for ...

Yes- it could just be a benign fatty lump, very common in dogs. All my old dogs get them.

Sorry you have to wait until Monday.

Despite your logical reasoning, it CAN be medical, so do get him checked out. If he gets the all-clear, I think crate-training is the way to go until he feels more secure. Take him back to puppy days, tajke him outside and wait with him, then praise him when he does what you want. Nothing wrong with...

What you have is a baby dog. She needs keeping safe the way you would with a baby human. So first, make sure she cannot get out of your garden. Use baby gates as danabanana said to keep her out of rooms that you don't want her in, and away from stairs. Protect anything you don't want chewed - puppie...

Don't ever leave Andy and dog together, even for a moment. You'd be amazed how quickly a dog can rip a cage apart.

All the best with your new dog, and with training your parents! :D
