Aackkkk!! What happened?
Who swapped my well behaved puppy for this wild beast?? Today when I was playing with Sulley he started to get all crazy so I slowed the play down. He then got his teeth to close to my hand (right beside) and I said ah-ah and turned my back and folded my arms. He then began to nip on the back of my ...

Re: Raw Food Diet
So I've now been through this thread twice and I think it will take me a couple more times to actually absorb all the great information. When I first read that some of y'all were feeding raw I couldn't believe it. I had never heard of this. The more I read the more sense it makes though. I'm very se...

Re: Elimination and worming questions, now itching too
Anway, it may be just food related and you can try the elimation test yourself at home. It could also be a reaction to bedding or carpet...or some plants she had rubbed in. All of these sorts of things you can think about before going back to the vet. The stages I went through were: 1. Eliminate po...

Re: training a dog not to use pee pads
What about one of those "pee posts"? They're inexpensive so I'd think worth a try. http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Solution-P ... B0002DH5MG

Re: Elimination and worming questions
I have a similar situation with allergies... it could be food related though. It's the most difficult thing to work out why.. I had vets and dermotologist tests and I now know the cause and I have a package of natural solutions now I put together for my boy. http://positively.com/forum/viewtopic.ph...

Re: Elimination and worming questions
Sounds like a lot of de-worming medication going on there. How can the confirm worms there and then anyway? They need to take samples and send them off /look at them in microscope etc. A lot of medication will upset a pup's tum I'm sure. On top of that, he has to contend with his vaccinations as we...

Elimination and worming questions
Sulley can't seem to maintain solid stools. His worming history is as follows: He was wormed at the shelter on July 15th. We got him July 31st and had him to the vet on Aug 2nd. He was diagnosed with coccidia and hookworm and the vet gave us a tablet to give once for the hookworm (I can't seem to ge...

Sulley's progress (and mine too!)
Sulley's been in our family for 5 weeks now. He's right around 15 weeks old so he's coming up to a kind of a milestone in his life. Soon he'll finally finish up his shots and get a shiny tag to hang on his collar. Through positive training we've taught him to sit, down, touch, off, high five, leave ...

Yes! I'm always preaching "set the puppy up for success" Thank you Sulley for driving the point home.Mattie wrote: That is your son's fault for not closing his bedroom door, he will learn that he now has to keep it shut.

Re: I feel like a bad owner
Ok.. if I can see through this fog of tears to type. Just wanting to thank everyone. It really is a relief to know that even the best dog owners (what I consider all of you to be) have moments of doubt and frustration. Thanks for the chance to vent a little, it always helps me gain a little perspect...

the cats and the puppy
We've had Sulley for a month now, he's around 14 wks, give or take. We have two cats, 9 and 10 yrs old. When we first got Sulley there was hissing and a little bit of swatting, and the pup would pretty much back down. The cats have their own space they can go to if they really want to get completely...
