Re: Home remedies
The smell is still there, not so strong, but definitely there. I added lavender oil in the bathing salt water and there is lavender smell too, not sure if it's masking the smell, making it less pronounced or if it's working so well the smell is lessen.

Re: Home remedies
I'm not sure how Oreo's immune system is nowadays although she certainly was doing poorly previously. No flare ups or anything for an entire two months! Not a long period of time, but an achievement nonetheless for this little lady, considering her previous record between flare-ups of any sort was l...

Re: Home remedies
Could it also be a yeast infection? Is there a smell to it? If that were the case antibacterial wouldn't work anyways, you would need an antifungal. To me the angry red one looks like a yeast infection, but I would have to smell it to know for sure. I'm not an expert but I do work at a groomers and...

Re: Home remedies
Her vet is not working today! That skin was definitely redder, hot and weeping clear fluids this morning when I checked. Booked her in for a visit to the vet tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully we can do something good for her (without using steroids or more medication). I have never seen a herbal pharmac...

Re: Home remedies
Thanks! Not sure if we have it where I am. Any idea if I'm more likely to find it in a pharmacy or or Chinese medicinal hall?

I'm also a little concerned about your groomers. If Oreo is normally fine having her claws done, then they should have realised that something wasn't right and not stressed her out further. Next time she needs them done she might get upset again even if she's healed up. In fact if i was a groomer I...

Hi Everyone, so Oreo had a huge "fight" with the groomers yesterday - it took 3 groomers and close to 20 minutes to cut her nails alone. It was really unlike her so I took a closer look at her paw today. I was most shocked to see that she seemed to have some inflammation or infection on th...

Re: Am I under feeding?
Thanks! =) I'm going to try feeding her a little more! Tonight, she ate soooo much (1/3 of a chicken in 1 sitting of 15 minutes  ), her stomach is bloated like a balloon. I'm going to feed her a little less tomorrow (like a little bit of breakfast and the usual breakfast for dinner). Then no ...

Re: Am I under feeding?
Her vet is a pro raw vet who was actually the one who introduced raw to us! Lol! I'm just concerned about feeding her fattier proteins like lamb (which she is allergic to anyway) because she had a case of pancreatitis some months back. Among the proteins we readily have available in our country, the...

Am I under feeding?
So I've been feeding Oreo, my mini schnauzer, raw chicken. I usually just puts the whole defrosted chicken (approx900g) in front of her and let her have a go at it for 5-15 minutes, depending on whether I think she's too skinny/hungry that day or she's had too much treats. But despite being lanky at...

Marking or peeing?
Ok, this is going to sound strange and curious. Oreo goes to a dog run about half an hour's drive away once a week for her agility training. She will usually pee before we leave the house but when she's at the dog run, she seem to be peeing a little all over the place, as if she's marking the place....

Re: Chickening out of RMB
I don't know if there are other protein options with soft bones and are "smellier" like fish or, where I am, we have bull frogs - taste like chicken when cooked but with a fishy smell when raw! they may be other options that may interest your dog? I have friends who feed raw but don't feed...

Haha! So I'm not the only one who feeds cat stuff to my dog! =P When I had to feed dehydrated raw food for convenience (compared to DIY fresh raw), I fed dehydrated cat food and fresh fruit and vegetables. For treat boxes, I stuffed dehydrated raw in a kong or for puzzle boxes, I put dehydrated trea...

Re: Home made tick remover.
I only know the ticks I pull off Oreo are brown dog ticks because that is the only type we have here! but this tick looks very different from the ones I have been getting acquainted with, all/no thanks to my bouncy little tick magnet, Oreo!
