Re: Two Dogs... several issues... stress, in your face, etc..

What you're calling "me" I learned as "watch me." Really, the words don't matter, you could call it bacon and eggs and it wouldn't matter. When we (my puppy and I) learned "watch me" I held a treat up to my face right next to my eye. Of course, that caused puppy to look...

Re: My pit bull is being aggressive, help?

It's not that they don't believe in trying, they just know that the likelihood of a reconciliation or an ability to live together harmonious is slim to none. You could attempt to take the dog to a humane society that is no-kill or find a breed specific rescue organization that works on a foster basi...

Re: Pregnant?

That's a very good point Mattie. Of the 7 only 3 were adopted out. You'll also find that people would LOOOOOOVE to have a puppy while they're still in mommy's tummy, but when they're out it's a different story. At one point when the puppies were very much too young to be adopted we had homes for all...

Re: Pregnant?

Did you ever get in touch with your regular vet or visit another one?

Re: New dog - need some help

If it's "unstructured" activity--as in he's outside by himself left to "play"--it's probably not enough. He needs some structured exercise (walking, running, etc). My beagle and walkerhound spend most of their day outside. Most of that time is them sleeping or sunbathing with may...

Re: Immediate help requested

Some of our boarding Kennels are that way. We actually have one where I live that has separate runs and all. Each dog (or pair if they're from the same household) is put in it's own space, they do have some together play time. At ours you can pay for your dog to swim in the pool or go on a nature wa...

Re: New dog - need some help

I'm not sure if she does it while they're flying or if she's quick enough to grab them while they're on the ground. I've had to get three of them away from her since we got her in March. One of her puppies catches and eats them too. I can't remember if you said, and my head hurts or I'd go back and ...

Re: Pregnant?

When does your normal vet come back? Three weeks is a very long time to wait if she does happen to have an infection and isn't pregnant. We did look online and do a lot of research about how to tell if your dog is pregnant, and from what we experienced and what we read, it's not overly easy to tell ...

Re: Pregnant?

I have had a pregnant female, but my circumstances were very abnormal so I won't be much help--while I had a sinking suspicion she was pregnant, we took our girl to the vet on a Thursday and the vet gave us a definite confirmation and said we would have 10 days 'til the arrival. We had puppies at 2 ...

Re: Dog went blind & runs into things, how can I help her?

What if you went to a carpet/flooring store and got like a 6 inch run that you could lay against the wall, that way she could (maybe?) learn that when she touches that carpet swatch a wall's right there. If you have carpet, maybe you could put a different texture carpet.

Re: Unpredictable Aggression

PetSmart is fine if you have a good trainer... just like with everything. We took ours through PetSmart and our trainer was great. I'm sorry that you feel as if you're being attacked, that's certainly not the intention any of us have. I can only speak to my personal experiences and I just know that ...

I googled it the first time I saw it on the forum. I had no clue what it was 'til then. Never heard it before either.
