What do you do about dogs off leash?
I am incredibly frustrated with so many owners in my neighborhood leaving their dogs off leash to roam unattended. I can barely get around the corner with Sulley with seeing a dog, no owner in sight, roaming around. I always turn and go the opposite direction since I have no idea what these dogs are...

Re: My other obsession (photo thread!)...
Wow, such varied and beautiful colors on them. I always love to watch them move in their kind of slow and deliberate way. Interesting story about the one who got out and lived on its own for 5 weeks, then seemed to revert back to wild. A few years ago when I worked as a vet assistant we had someone ...

Now that made me instantly smile! She (or it he?) looks so eager to pose for the camera, I love it.

Yeah, it seems uncomfortable for the pup. Wonder how it manages to eat?wvvdiup1 wrote:I wonder if that's not a freak of nature! However, it may be of some breed this dog is part of that didn't show on its physique, but its tongue? Gee, I haven't seen that tongue go inside its mouth either!

Re: Poor Itchy Puppy
She's still itching, but we're still in the early stages of the food switch (1/4 cup new food with 1/2 cup old food). We're switching her to Blue Buffalo Small Breed Puppy. I was originally torn between Blue Buffalo, Wellness, and Natural Balance but ruled the later out because it's been involved i...

Re: Poor Itchy Puppy
Just wondering how you are doing with the itching problem in your pup. We have an almost identical situation and we've seen some improvement but there is still more itching than is normal. We're trying a simple diet of one protein source and one carb source now (Natural Balance, LID) so we have our ...

The Ultimate recall noise
So this morning I was having a little training/playtime with Sulley. I've decided to use his tug toy to work on his impulse control and we were off to a nice start, then it happened.. Suddenly the sound of the cat getting ready to hack up a hairball (or his breakfast). I could have been a 5'6" ...

Re: Biting lead while on walks
My puppy is 16 weeks old and I was advised (here and by my vet) to only walk about 5 mins per month of age and even a little less for a large breed which mine is. I'm not sure how long you are walking, but that was a revelation for me. He also used to bite at the leash quite a bit but rarely does it...

Re: Raw Food Diet
Wow, that is all some interesting information. I suppose its like a lot of things and no one thing works for every situation. I can tell from reading all the posts that those who do feed raw here are doing it because its been proven to be the best for their dogs. I'm sure if they acquired a dog that...

Re: Aackkkk!! What happened?
It looks like the raw diet isn't going to happen :| My husband isn't on board with it so it won't work unless we're both committed. To be honest this isn't the first time we haven't agreed on an issue with the dog. I don't want to go into a lot of personal details here on the forum, but its been a b...

Re: Raw Food Diet
Thank you so much for the replies. I'm still digging up and digesting information so I hope to begin on this soon. I just hope we can do it. Even though I read that everyone here was able to settle into it fine, it feels like such a radical change and I wouldn't want to mess the whole thing up.

Re: Aackkkk!! What happened?
regarding the Bendaryl, I noticed you expressed an interest in raw feeding. Have you tried it yet - only you may find some relief from the itching from a change in diet. We haven't tried yet. I'm in the process of gathering information. Sadly he was back to runny stools tonight so obviously he's ha...
