What lovely photos. I especially like the "Am I doin' all right, Dad?" number 5. All the different dog conversations would be a terrific training aid for brand-new dog owners (and those who don't speak 'dog')
He is in superb condition too. Just right.

Re: What Can You Add?
Thanks for the input - some very good additions there. A is pretty sensible with things like food and poo bags, and it's in a town so shops within walking distance.

What Can You Add?
Friend is stepping in to look after a dog for a week in its own home, owner having been let down by dog-sitter. Friend (let's call her A) has previously owned one dog, a lurcher, which was a rehome already trained by me, and who died about 10 years ago. Dog to be looked after is a lurcher too, which...

What an attractive shopping area.
He is certainly getting fabulous socialising. Great job being done there, Ari.

Re: Weaning off afternoon walks
5 minutes of real fun is better than some other dogs get in a whole walk. Not Jas of course because I know he gets great walks, but I do feel so sorry for some dogs I see out "walking" which is really dragging along while owner is on social media.

Re: Weaning off afternoon walks
Yep, he's a big fan of hide and seek, though it's tricky in the garden as he can see where I'm hiding whatever it is! I'm experimenting with home made flirt poles, but have the problem that he catches them in moments, and then chomps through the string rather than enjoying the toy! I've made anothe...

Re: Weaning off afternoon walks
No, I think you are sensible. Nobody who hasn't done it knows how hard it is to be pro-active for the whole of every walk you do.
Woud Jas settle for a ride in the car instead?

Lovely pics - you can never have too many puppy pics. They grow up before your eyes. You are doing such a good job with him.

That's very sensible, ZaraD.
JudyN, that Jasper is awesome, and haven't you both got a lovely relationship. He really tried for you - and liver pate made a great reward.
A big black cat in the graveyard....hmmmmm

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2
Sorry to contradict, but in UK the microchip is not proof of ownership. The person to whom the chip is registered owns the microchip but not the dog it is in. Bizarre and stupid, but that's how it stands now. However, a bill of sale and breed registration documents go a long way towards proving owne...

Re: I’m back re: ESAs
Behaviour is what I do. Giving humans emotional support is very hard on an animal. They are just not designed to do it. That some of them choose to support their human is wonderful, but it is a great stress on them, and I emphasise the 'choice' aspect because then they can opt out if they are having...

I love the 'thinking folds' when he inspects things!
You must already be looking back at the fubsy puppy pics and thinking how on earth he's got so big in such a short time.
